Joanie Dawson is a native Marshall Texas. She is the wife of Cory Dawson, Mother of Colby & Justice Dawson, and the daughter of Anthony & Amecia Paley.
Joanie currently resides in Denton Texas. She is a graduate of the University of North Texas where she received a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts Degree. Joanie also has a Masters in Business Administration. Joanie has been singing since age 9 years old where she sang her first solo entitled grateful.
Joanie has had the opportunity to sing, travel, and record with many different well know artist. At the age of six-teen Joanie had the opportunity to record on a John Lennon tour bus with 6 other students from Marshall High School.
Joanie has also sung background for Sunday Best season 1 winner Crystal Akins, and runner up of Sunday Best Season 4 Andrea Helms. She has also had the opportunity to sing behind Myron Butler, and meet recording artist Jonathan McRenolds.
During her teenage years Joanie had the opportunity to sing under the direction of Trini Green, and she also had the opportunity to record with His Sound Records with producer Shayne (Blac) Thomas. Joanie has also had the opportunity to record with recording worship artist Bre’Ana Rene’ of Marshall and christian rapper Mys. Ree of Houston Texas and Brittany Johnson and Identity recording Artist group of Dallas Texas.
Joanie mainly specializes in vocal training of singing gospel music. However, she does have the ability to train classically, or for casual singing. Joanie also has experience in show choir, as well as singing in different languages. Joanie is the minister of music/Praise & Worship leader at Praise Tabernacle Worship Center (PTWC) in Denton Texas.
She also had the amazing opportunity to direct Voices of Praise gospel choir at the University of North Texas. Joanie finally decided to launch her vocal coaching career in May of 2014 after directing the University of North Texas Gospel Choir of three years. She decided to start her private lessons after continuously being asked of peers, friends, family and church members. Her motto is everybody can sing people just have to learn the proper breath support to sustain the note and pitch.
Joanie loves God and music, and often wonders where she would be in life if it were not for her gift of singing and the love of God.
